I think I have heard it all now. A million bucks, these people are suing 4 homeless men for a cool million. Humph maybe the homeless found the money tree.

Shop sues homeless for $1 million
A New York antique shop has filed suit against four
homeless people, claiming they drive away business by
loitering near the store.  The suit, filed in Manhattan
Supreme Court by Karl Kemp & Associates Antiques, claims
the unnamed homeless people cause customers to avoid the
business with their loitering in "old, worn and unsanitary
clothing and cardboard boxes and old blankets which they
convert into sleeping accommodations," the New York Sun
reported.  In court papers filed Tuesday, the antique
dealer is asking the judge to force the homeless people
to pay $1 million in damages and keep a distance of 100
feet from the store.  The suit alleges the four spend
"significant amounts of time" blocking potential customers'
view of the store's window display, "consuming alcoholic
beverages from open bottles, performing various bodily
functions such as urinating or spitting on the sidewalk,
and ... verbally harassing or intimidating ... prospective
customers."

I empathize with the business owners' problems, but there's ways and there's ways to deal with a problem.

I hope they lose and have to pay a bundle in court costs.

yeah, sound crazy i bet they are doing it more to get them away from there store than getting the money. i would hope there not so stupid to think they are going to recieve money. lol. sometimes it's a legal thing that they have to do it this way. that still don't make it make any sence though. smiles, shea

What they aut to do is pay them a lot less to stay away. That might work.
